This has to be one of the most beautiful venues in and around Yorkshire, Allerton Castle provided the perfect backdrop for Sophie and Chris' wedding.
You couldn't find a couple more suited to each other; they met on a chance night out in Cornwall where Chris was at university, survived the struggle of long distance and are passionate travellers. Their wanderlust led them to get engaged in Croatia over looking a waterfall, but instead of an abroad wedding, they decided to have the celebrations closer to home.
On the morning of the big day the mood was calm and happy, Sophie and her bridesmaids got ready in the beautiful Palace Suite. Lauren, the Maid of Honour, did everyone's hair and all the bridesmaids wore golden dresses to coordinate with the opulent venue. Meanwhile, the men were readying themselves in the Billiard Room, which had equally as stunning decor, including a pool table. However, they had both written a little something as a surprise for each other, it was so sweet to see them read each other's notes half an hour before they met at the altar.
The ceremony took place in the Great Hall, with a string quartet playing Sophie down the aisle. They signed the register in the Drawing Room, one of the most gorgeous locations in the whole castle; the portraits from this room looked especially regal, and looking at them you would have thought this was a royal wedding!?
There wasn't a cloud in the sky throughout the day, it was glorious, we were even lucky enough to catch the sunset!
As well as Allerton Castle being a fantastic venue, Sophie and Chris were a brilliant couple to work with, their friendliness making the experience truly delightful. By the end of the day, they felt more like friends than clients, and their wedding was an absolute pleasure to be a part of.
I hope you enjoy looking through photos from the day.
