Sarah and her daughter, Keira, got ready at home, doing their own hair and make up for the special occasion, it was such a lovely bonding moment between mother and daughter.
Before leaving for the registry office, we managed to get some first look photos. In a little green area near their home, Sarah tapped James on the shoulder, revealing her dress for the first time, his reaction was beautiful. Sometimes with weddings, split seconds like this can get lost in the mad rush of the day, so it was nice to have the chance to stop and capture a special, once-in-a-lifetime moment.
The ceremony took place at the registry office in York, shared with close family and friends. During the vows there were some tears. It was a very sweet occasion.
Afterward, the whole party took a gentle stroll down the street to the reception at the Grange Hotel. It was a beautiful, sunny day so the atmosphere felt fun and relaxed. At the reception, they served afternoon tea, complete with scones, sandwiches and drinks, with intermittent speeches and lively conversation.
We managed to get some brilliant couple portraits at The Grange, in addition to the candid photos that captured the fun and warmth of the reception, everyone had such a wonderful, enjoyable afternoon celebrating with Sarah and James.
